Nissan North America employs around 10,700 people just south of Nashville in Franklin and Smyrna, as it produces around 2,000 vehicles per day.

HCA Healthcare comes third with just over 10,600 employees. Of the top 10 largest employers in the area, five are healthcare companies. However, there are major opportunities in retail and insurance.
